One year ago today!
Our first anniversary has come around really quickly! It's hard to believe it's been a whole year ... time certainly has flown. If only we could go on honeymoon again - it was great. The Boys have left us a present ... fortunately it's the thought that counts. :) |

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, give us your money!
Hilary, who was one of Kerri's bridesmaids, is taking part in a sponsored walk in aid of breast cancer, and she needs our support. She writes: I have registered to become on of many thousands of women who will be participating in the 60K "Walk for Breast Cancer" being held Sept 19-21 here in Toronto. So please go online and sponsor her - every little helps. (There's a form you can print if you don't like to send money over the Internet.) And, yes, the site is very slow to load, so please be patient. |

First batch of photos are up
I've had to split the digital photos in to three Webshots "users": 1, 2 & 3. The 35mm pictures should be ready tomorrow, and we're getting them on CD-ROM so that should help speed things up. Current Music: Deep Purple - You Fool No One |

Catching up on email
A friend from work emailed us this the day after we left on honeymoon: Jacob, age 92, and Rebecca, age 89, are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding and on the way they pass a drugstore. Jacob suggests they go in.
Jacob addresses the man behind the counter: "Are you the owner?"
The pharmacist answers "Yes".
Jacob: "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"
Pharmacist: "Of course we do."
Jacob: "How about medicine for circulation?"
Pharmacist: "All kinds."
Jacob: "Medicine for rheumatism, scoliosis?"
Pharmacist: "Definitely."
Jacob: "How about Viagra?"
Pharmacist: "Of course."
Jacob: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, jaundice?"
Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works."
Jacob: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, Geritol, antidotes for Parkinson's disease?"
Pharmacist: "Absolutely."
Jacob: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers?"
Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."
Jacob says to the pharmacist: "We'd like to register here for our wedding gifts, please."
Anyone would think there was a suggestion that we're getting on a bit? :) Current Music: Aerosmith - Rock In A Hard Place (Cheshire Cat) |

All these things were sent to try us....
We had a few hurdles to overcome on Saturday: - the groomsmen and I waiting for Kerri to arrive at the church (she was early!!) and the priest asking "who is the groom? what's your name? what's your bride's name?" ... that really inspired confidence!
- any resemblence between the rehearsal and the actual ceremony was purely coincidental! I think the whole wedding party did well to guess what we were supposed to be doing at times
- arriving at the reception to be told that the cake hadn't been delivered ... it had!
- tripping over Kerri's train as we walked toward the head table!
Mind you, I have to say some things went better than planned: the weather was great, and the priest actually married the right people! :) The ceremony was great and the reception was amazing - everyone kept telling us how great the food and the venue were. Yesterday was spent getting ready for the honeymoon. I will never do business with CIBC again - I called a week ago to order the foreign currency, couldn't pick it up on Friday because they only take cash (aargh!), so I was quite surprised to be told yesterday that they didn't have it and it wouldn't be ready until Thursday!!! Fortunately they eventually found it all "in a corner" but were not apologetic or even very concerned at the stress they had caused. |

Writer's block!
I still can't get very far with my speeches - I have to do one for the rehearsal dinner in under four hours (as well as at the reception tomorrow) and I can't think of a thing to say apart from the obvious thank you to everyone. It's getting REALLY close now!
Both families are here; they've met; we left our dads behind after dinner last night, chatting until 11pm and gone. Tim has done sterling work with labelling all the wine for the reception. Most of my jobs are done, except for writing a couple of speeches (so nothing to worry about there!!); Kerri's just waiting for the final fitting and she's virtually done too. Environment Canada is forecasting "Cloudy with sunny periods and 40 percent chance of showers. Low 17. High 23." for Saturday. Today's to do list
Kerri's out with friends from her cooking group. Tim & I have a short list for today: - Arrange car to get the groom & best men to the church
- Find out if the dress shirts are button cuffs or if we need cufflinks
- Talk to the Steam Whistle about storing the wine, centre pieces, etc. so we don't have to ship everything down there on the day
- Buy me some new dress shoes
- Order currency & travellers cheques for the honeymoon
- Draw up a list of people to invite to the Stag, then email/call them
- Pick up a mysterious letter that's waiting at the post office
Nothing too onerous. |

ONE WEEK TODAY!
I think we're getting there - still a few things to sort out, but we've both got this week off work so we should be able to get everything done. Current Music: Queensryche - Someone else? |
